Welcome to garysmusic.com. I have been a bass player, guitarist and songwriter since I was about 14 years old. My first instrument was an electric washtub bass constructed from a mop handle, transistor radio speaker and telephone wire. Although I have dabbled in guitar, tuba, sax, accordion and piano, the bass has always been my first musical love. I recently moved to Massachusetts and am currently playing in the Cape Ann Big Band, Midlife Crisis and doing freelance work.

As you peruse my site, stop by the "my music" section to hear, what else?, my music. These are songs that I've written and recorded in my home studio, and feature my bass and guitar playing. The "live music" section has some examples of my bass playing from various gigs. "Band tales" has interesting stories about some of the bands I've played in. "Equipment" finds me waxing nostalgic over the instruments I've used through the years.
